How do Cultures shape Languages? (in progress) BACK

A diagram of neologism from 2003 to 2013

With a range of diverse cultures of new and old, how does a society shape it's language?

A big part of my research is directed towards how modernisation affects human interaction, especially communication. The digital world has reached and changed everyone’s' lives. A form of communication is constantly changing due to the immediate accessibility of instant contact with others. Firstly, how does this dramatic change effect social behaviour? Are people less patient or independent because of this?  Secondly, how does this play a role in written and spoken language? How simplified can the digital world make a language?
